When billing changes appear
Know what to expect after checkout, cancellation, restoration, or a payment update.
Some billing changes take a short time to appear in PureShip. The billing page for the active workspace is the place to confirm the latest subscription status.
Before you check
- Make sure the correct personal workspace or organization is active.
- Open Settings → Plans.
- Read the current status before starting another action.
After checkout
Complete the checkout steps and use the return action to go back to PureShip. The confirmation page may offer View plans or Go to dashboard.
Open Settings → Plans and check the subscription status. A successful checkout screen can appear before the billing page has received the latest change. If needed, wait briefly and refresh the page once.
After leaving checkout
If you leave checkout without completing it, use Back to plans. Check the billing page before trying again so that you do not start a second checkout unnecessarily.
After cancellation or restoration
A cancellation can be scheduled for the end of the current billing period. The billing page may continue to show the subscription as active together with its scheduled end date.
After restoring a subscription, return to the billing page and confirm that the scheduled end date has disappeared.
After a payment update
If the subscription is paused, unpaid, or requires attention, open the Billing portal when available and follow the instructions shown there. Return to PureShip afterward and refresh the billing page once.
Provider webhook endpoints
Subscription changes reach PureShip through the Better Auth routes exposed by the configured provider:
- Stripe:
/api/auth/stripe/webhook - Polar:
/api/auth/polar/webhooks
Configure only the route for the active provider and use the matching signing secret. These callbacks synchronize provider events with the billing status shown in the application.
Troubleshooting
The status has not changed
Confirm the active workspace, wait briefly, and refresh once. Avoid repeating checkout, cancellation, or restoration while the first request is being processed.
The Billing Portal and PureShip show different information
Return to Settings → Plans after a short wait. If the difference remains, do not repeat the billing action. Note the workspace name, displayed status, and approximate time of the change for troubleshooting. Never share full payment details or private codes.
I cannot open billing controls
Confirm that billing is available for the workspace and that your organization role includes billing access. If you capture a screenshot for troubleshooting, remove private account and payment information first.
